Flaming colours and blazing lights,
I can barely see them..
Though they shine so bright,
They blur my vision,
These tears that pour,
Down my face,
With each step you take,
To be with the boy next door!

***

Diamonds fall from,
My glistening eyes,
And sparkle down my face...
All in memory of your embrace.

***

Every night, the same old story:
Tears replace hard-won glory.
Every morning, I wonder why,
It hurt enough, to make me cry.

***
We lay below the spotted sky,
One last time, before goodbye.
My fingers tousled tired hair,
While you slumbered, worn with care.

A voice I loved, hummed a tune,
Sweetest sleep, arrived too soon.
The pigeons watched, watched by crows,
What they wondered, who's to know.

A falling sun, a stolen kiss,
A smile, a glimpse,
Of pure bliss.

They Let Go

Try, as he might,
He cannot show,
What she cannot hide,
So, they let go.

A broken promise,
Some twisted truths,
Forsaken bliss,
In the age of youth.

The wrinkles now threaten,
To dissolve her eyes.
He sits in dark closets,
Amongst weathered ties.

They lived without knowing,
(He, without showing)
What they had missed.
Left with empty arms
And lips unkiss'd

All this because, as told before,
They'd let go.

It rains

Late night, you hear the rain,
And look out the window...
But it's all the same.

The phone rings,
A familiar voice!
One that that you loved,
But now, despise.

Stunted words,
And crisp tones.
Hearts that beat,
Have turned to stone.
A favour , a promise,
All sincerity vanished!

It ends.
It rains.

On nights like these,
He'd come to me.

A trail of kisses,
The chink of glass,
Swirling smoke and hazy dreams,
Smothered laughter,
Muted screams.

An open window,
An empty road,
The gates close.
And he goes.

Eventually you're left alone,
Just as skin leaves bone.
Eternity, a pretty farce.
A promise, that never lasts.

****

So many tears.
Imagined fears.
Promises and secrets.
Unravelled, revealed.
Others, still concealed.

On the banks of river Indus

The river flows by,
Reflecting hill and sky.

Snowy peaks and frail sunlight:
Bright but unwarming,
Not as strong as the chilly wind.

And the river flows by,
Reflecting hill and sky.

Carrying along old bottles,
Much younger than the war
Fought, on these banks of sand,

To keep this river flowing
Through our land.
To my resolve-
As you crumble,
So I fall.
And he becomes everything
From nothing at all.

Now goes my heart unhindered,
On a treacherous ride,
Where roads of agony and ecstacy.
Lie side by side.
Strange, the bindings of the heart.
Stranger, still, the reasons to part.
But strangest, by far, of all:
The lovers' endearing call.

The Life You Always Wanted

From the forbidden fruit, a single bite,
Hath given Adam such great plight.
But man never learns,
Man only yearns.

Not all wishes are meant to be granted,
Not all dreams, once fulfilled, bring joy.
Destiny often plays a cruel game.
Nothing remains, 'cept regret and blame.
Memories still amuse.
Still haunt, still hurt.

But your voice on the phone,
Reminds me you're alone.

No matter how you try,
To convince yourself that this is fine,
This is how things should be
I know last night you cried,
While thinking of me.

Those kisses that you want to give,
There's noone to receive.
It's true our love is lost,
Together, let's grieve.

WoS

Use and throw.
Love and leave.
While concern questions,
Pretend to grieve.

At deepest night,
When memories return,
"Shove them aside!"
Easier said than done.

Kalwan Mehta

He sits on the edge
Of the table.
With effeminate stance,
But striking voice,
Balancing intonations
And his perch.
Describing at length,
A spontaneous search
Of the perfect word.

On the concrete path,

A dry leaf falls.

Teased by the wind,

It flips and flops.

Once, emerald green,

It hung on a tree.

What, in beauty confined,

In death, roams free.
