Hampi 2 (SY IV)

In Hospet town,
If you ask around,
For a good place to see
All the locals point north and say,
“The historical ruins of Hampi!”

Each stone tells a story,
Of the days of yore.
When you’ve seen it all,
There’s still some more!

Ancient palaces and statues of gods,
Temples abound where bells still toll,
“Extravagant structures of royal choice,”
Explains the guide in a clear voice.

The magic of history weaved its charms,
While the southern sun warmed our arms.
In Hampi, we visited a glorious past,
With awe-filled eyes and wondrous hearts.
